BAF Provides Hurricane Florence Relief

Posted On: October 19, 2018

September’s Hurricane Florence brought damaging winds and catastrophic flooding to the Carolinas. To help those affected, Basic American Foods (BAF) recently made a $50,000 donation to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief. In addition to this monetary donation, BAF also donated 10,000+ cases of product – over 550,000 servings of food! – to the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina. Click here to see a video of the 43,000 pounds of food being loaded and transported to those in need.

But our Hurricane Relief campaign is still underway. Hurricane Michael devastated thousands of people in the southeast only a few days ago, creating a need to continue supporting the Red Cross efforts. BAF employees are providing further relief with their own donations to the American Red Cross, which are being matched dollar-for-dollar by BAF.

A core value of BAF is to “Make Things Better.” That means we are committed to making a meaningful difference – in our employees’ lives, for our customers, and in the larger communities where we work and live. Together with the generosity of our employees, we can support the American Red Cross in their disaster relief efforts to help millions of people recover from this devastating hurricane season.
