Living Our Values: Consumer Foods Service Day

On Friday, May 17, our consumer foods team volunteered at two Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa locations, Antioch and Martinez. Loaves and Fishes prepares nutritious, hot meals at a kitchen in Pittsburg and provides free meals at four locations Monday through Friday. Since its founding in 1983, over 4.5 million meals have been served to those in need in our community. More than half of those served are over the age of 50 and most are individuals and families who simply do not have enough money to make it through the month.

Our team helped with meal prep (lots of vegetable and fruit chopping!), serving the meal, and cleaning up. It was a rewarding experience and we enjoyed doing it as a team. We encourage all salaried employees to take advantage of our Service Day program and Make Things Better in the communities where we work and live!
